Willie Nelson's True Outlaw Stories 4

WISH WILLIE A HAPPY 75th BIRTHDAY! (part 2) **

Today's True Outlaw Stories come from Willie's longtime drummer Paul English.

For many years, he was the guy who collected money from the shady club managers after shows. As you might expect, it's not the easist job in the world, but Paul always knew creative ways to get what was due them. Expect to hear about forklifts, phone booths and briefcases full of cash.

Recommended: Willie Nelson: One Hell of a Ride

Producer: Joyride Media

** Legend has it Willie’s actual physical birthday is 4/29/33, even though his birth certificate and drivers license says 4/30/33. That gives us two days to celebrate one of our country’s great music legends.

ICON Collectibles - What's Going On...

Many think What's Going On is one of the best songs of the late 60's and early 70's. I think it's right up there. The 1971 Marvin Gaye album is also one of the all-time champs. Do you know that Marvin Gaye unsuccessfully tried out for the Detroit Lions? Music's gain, football's loss.

What's Going On...at ICON Collectibles...

Today our Meet Carlos Santana at a private event at the Fillmore in San Francisco auction package - through Charity Folks - launches (incl. 2 tix to the May 20th show, a meet and greet, and an invitation to the Jazz Heritage Center Gallery tribute to Santana and Miles Davis, and more...). We are also launching two new product lines in May - canvas album art covers and full fine art gatefold album covers. Jefferson Airplane's "After Bathing At Baxters" will be the first to hit the market. And, we just found out that Alicia Key's trench coat worn in one of her videos is on it's way to the ICON office for a one-of-a-kind auction, again through Charity Folks, hopefully sometime before the year is out.

What's Going On...

There's still time to give Mom a piece of music history - e.g. a Billie Holiday Fine Art Print or a Johnny Mathis "Chances Are" Music Plaque for Mother's Day.

Plus, Father's Day is right around the corner (June 15th). If Dad's a rocker - we have Dylan & Sly. A Jazz guy? We have Miles & Monk. A good old boy? We have Johnny Cash. An Ali fan? We have Muhammad Ali a.k.a. Cassius Clay - exclusive photos from his 1963/1964 "I Am The Greatest" recording session. And he was the greatest!

That's what's going on...Rope-A-Dopin' and all....

Steve
